Sky Sports expert David Prutton delivers verdict on Reading FC and County Derby

Former Nottingham Forest midfielder David Prutton predicts Reading FC will start 2022 with a loss to Derby County.

The Royals have not played since December 11 after canceling their last three games against Luton Town, Peterborough United and Fulham due to coronavirus.

The Wayne Rooney Rams have only seen one game postponed over the holiday season and have been enjoying great form lately.

Derby is currently on a three game winning streak and is now eleven points from safety despite a 21 point deduction.

The Rams remain at the bottom of the league standings and Reading could extend their gap to the bottom three with a win on Monday afternoon.

However, David Prutton doesn’t think that will happen as he predicts that Derby’s winning streak will continue with a 2-1 win at Select Car Leasing Stadium.

After Hull lost to Blackpool on Saturday and Cardiff City scored a point against the promotion chasing West Brom, Reading could climb the table to 19 e place by proving Prutton wrong and claiming three runs against the Rams.

Reading FC kicks off against Derby County at Select Car Leasing Stadium at 3pm.
