Reading FC 2 Birmingham City 1 highlight as goals from John Swift and Lucas Joao give Paul Ince a winning start

Welcome to our live coverage of Reading FC v Birmingham City.

Kick-off at Select Car Leasing Stadium is at 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

It’s the first game of the Paul Ince era at Berkshire as the former England and Manchester United midfielder takes charge of the Royals for the first time.

The 54-year-old has been appointed as the club’s new caretaker boss following Veljko Paunovic’s departure on Saturday night.

Ince is joined in the dugout by new interim assistant Alex Rae. The Scot played alongside Ince in the early 2000s at Wolves while also coaching under him at Blackpool in 2013/14.

Reading are looking to make it three games unbeaten after a draw at Peterborough United and victory at Preston at the weekend.

The Royals currently sit five points clear of the relegation zone in 21st place, but even if they win they will not progress further up the league table.

Birmingham, meanwhile, have won just two of their last 14 matches and start the day 18th and 11 points behind their opponents.

Reporter Jonathan Low will have full coverage of the game throughout the evening in the live blog below.
