Carpool platform Ola on Tuesday announced key appointments to the leadership of its financial services, electric mobility and vehicle sales businesses. PV Harinarayan has joined as vice president (loans) at Ola Financial Services, while V Ramesh has joined as chief (operations) at Ola Futurefactory, according to a statement.
Priteesh Mahajan has been appointed responsible for two-wheeler program management and product planning at Ola Electric, he added.
Ola said the appointments are a continuation of his drive to attract the world’s best talent to “realize his vision of new mobility which encompasses new mobility services”.
âWe are ushering in the era of new mobility and continue to attract top talent from around the world to scale it up,â said Ola Founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal.
These additions to the leadership team add significant experience and diverse skills to Ola in key areas including lending, production and quality as well as engineering management, he added.
âI look forward to working with them to accelerate the global transition to sustainable mobility,â he said.
Harinarayan brings nearly two decades of banking and fintech experience, having served as CEO of Simple Pay, where he was responsible for creating a high-tech focused digital loan NBFC. He previously worked with organizations such as Bajaj Finserv, Barclays and ICICI Bank.
Ramesh is joining as vice president and chief operating officer at the Ola Futurefactory and will be responsible for efficient operations and establishing best practices in safety, quality and productivity, the statement said.
He brings with him over three decades of experience in production, quality, design and development, having previously worked at Toyota, Maruti Suzuki, Lucas TVS and Tata Hitachi, he added. .
Priteesh Mahajan has joined Ola Electric as head of product planning and two-wheeler program management and will be responsible for overseeing the engineering program management for the company’s two-wheeler program which includes both the current lineup as well as future products, the company says.
With more than two decades of experience, Mahajan joins Ola after working at ABB where he managed global and local companies as head of the global instrumentation business.
Over the past few months, Ola has seen a number of senior executive departures, including that of Swayam Saurabh (Ola CFO) and Gaurav Porwal (COO) and Sandeep Chowdhury (General Counsel). These releases precede Ola’s plans to embark on an Initial Public Offering (IPO).
In October, Ola also restructured the organization and expanded the roles of some of its key leaders.
The Bengaluru-based company has also made numerous appointments, including that of Arun Sirdeshmukh (CEO of Ola Cars) and Vinay Bhopatkar (responsible for the delivery business).
Ola, in his statement, said he had also ramped up recruiting at all levels to build a strong talent and leadership pool.
