Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper sends Reading FC warning ahead of Championship clash
Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper said his squad are fully focused on Reading rather than the busy fixture list ahead.
The Reds, 13th, will head to Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday, seeking to close the gap in the single-point play-off spots.
Forest has gone from last place in the Championship with one point in seven games to a push for the top six as they are four points behind sixth-placed Queens Park Rangers.
Following Saturday’s game, they will host Luton Town on Tuesday and then travel to high-flying West Brom on Friday, wrapping up an eventful week for Cooper’s men.
But he says their main goal is to face the Royals.
“We’re talking about the break, but it’s right into a busy week. We can’t look any further than this weekend against Reading,” he said.
“We know we have Luton [Town] and West Brom in a short period of time, but what we need to do is focus on what we control and that is prepare for Reading.
“We can’t wait to play again. I see a motivated group of players who just want to hit the road and start playing again. It’s an exciting week ahead. We have to focus on ourselves, we have to prepare for opposition. being at their best.
“We also have to prepare for it knowing that we want to make the result our own. It’s no different. I’m more focused on the game plan of how to beat Reading rather than what happened outside. ground.”
