‘Need to keep going’ – Sky Sports expert’s prediction for Reading FC against Sheffield United

Sky Sports expert David Prutton is predicting a draw between Reading FC and Sheffield United in the championship on Tuesday night.

The former Nottingham Forest and Southampton midfielder said the Royals will need to “maintain the level of optimism” that came with the 1-1 draw with Forest on Saturday.

That point came thanks to Scott Dann’s second-half strike while Andy Carroll’s half-hour cameo also helped boost morale among Royals fans.

With just four points and three places between United in 17th (20 points) and Reading in 20th (17 points), Prutton says it will be difficult to separate the two teams at Select Car Leasing Stadium.

“Reading got a positive draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday at the end of what had been a difficult week after their points deduction,” he said in his prediction column before the game.

“They will want to maintain that level of optimism because they have to keep going if they are to avoid slipping further into the bottom three.

“I’ve talked a lot about Sheffield United’s inconsistency so far. But it’s more than that now.

“They weren’t good enough and at some point that has to change because with the team and the manager they have they should be higher in the table.

“Score draw here for me. “
