Kate Middleton and Prince William step out during Jubilee visit with George and Charlotte | royal | New

Royal watcher @loveforcambridg posted: “Aww what a lovely surprise.”

Another, @Hannahcjg, replied, “How adorable everyone will be so happy to see them.”

The Duke and Duchess arrived for concert rehearsals for Saturday night’s performance at the castle, featuring Bonnie Tyler and John Owen-Jones, among a host of others.

They’ll meet the cast and crew before the live event, even helping out with a number of final preparations.

“The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is a once in a lifetime event and it’s spectacular that I had the opportunity to perform in a celebration like this.

“I don’t know how to act with the royal family, but I’m so excited.”

The royal visit to Wales coincides with Prince Edward’s trip to Northern Ireland, after Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Laurence traveled to Edinburgh on Friday.

On Saturday evening, Prince William will lead a tribute to the Queen alongside Prince Charles at the Party at the Palace concert, just outside Buckingham Palace.

Airing on the BBC, the two-and-a-half-hour show will feature performances from Diana Ross, George Ezra and British Eurovision entry and finalist Sam Ryder.

There will also be appearances from Sir David Attenborough, David Beckham and Stephen Fry.

The Queen, who had hoped to attend the concert, pulled out of the Epsom Derby on Saturday.

The 96-year-old monarch, who experienced a “malaise” during the Trooping the Color parade, will instead watch the show from Windsor Castle.
