I am a descendent of John (1873-1852) and Esther Baker (1791 - 1876) through their second son WILLIAM BAKER who was born in St Pancras (27/3/1819) rather than Berkeley ! He was a mariner who married Ann Metcalfe in Liverpool 1850 but I have no record of his death. His son John Matthews Baker became a head teacher in Aber N Wales in 1875 and Ann his widow was alive in Llandudno in 1901 census. No sign of WB in any other census so he was probably at sea. Does anyone know anything else about him... or about the Berkeley Bakers. I have a tree of my end of the family, send an email to have it.

Many thanks! Website found at Bristol & Avon FHS fair on 27 Sept 2014, through Thornbury Museum table. Good work!

Great website. I'm trying to trace more about James Wintle, though to come from Thornbury, born circa 1785, married Betty, and had three children, Ann (b. 1812), Ansell (b. 1815) and James (b. 1809), before moving to Bristol in the early 19th century. Any help appreciated.
